During my 16-month co-op with the Ministry of Transportation’s Engagement and Advisory Branch, I worked on the Highway Corridor Management System. This system was used to track and manage road work on or near the highways all across Ontario. I joined this team during their live phase from May to August 2025. I contributed to prototypes, wireframes, client meetings, and running workshops.
My Role
– designed and updated screens based on client feedback (computer and mobile views)
Workshops - presented ideas and walked developers and clients through my designs
User Stories - worked through dev ops to gather and post information on wireframes
Background Information
The Highway Corridor Management System (HCMS) was built to make it easier for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to manage construction and development near highways. Before HCMS, applications and reviews were handled across emails, spreadsheets, and separate systems, which caused confusion and delays. The new system brings everything into one place, making the process smoother, faster, and easier to track. It also helps ensure that all projects comply with safety standards and planning requirements.
