Overview
A live-phase contribution to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation's system for tracking and managing road work on or near highways across Ontario — May to August 2025.
My Role
Wireframes — Designed and updated screens based on client feedback across both desktop and mobile views.
Workshops — Presented ideas and walked developers and clients through designs in collaborative working sessions.
User Stories — Worked through DevOps to gather and post information onto wireframes to support development handoff.
Background Information
The Highway Corridor Management System (HCMS) was built to make it easier for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to manage construction and development near highways. Before HCMS, applications and reviews were handled across emails, spreadsheets, and separate systems — causing confusion and delays.
The new system brings everything into one place, making the process smoother, faster, and easier to track. It also helps ensure that all projects comply with safety standards and planning requirements.
Prototypes

Update a Submission
One of 9 screens created to update and track a submission. These pages are used to upload files relating to each permit. Every permit has a unique number for tracking.

Application Database
A master view used to keep track of all permits and their associated information. Users can click an application number to open the full permit detail page.

Manage Payment of Permits
A receipt page that appears after a transaction within a permit. Displays all relevant information and the total paid. Names are blurred and other details use placeholders.
